Accented in rich 24-carat gold and measuring a full 44.00mm, this superb coin features a famous photograph of Prime Minister Winston Churchill, George VI and Queen Elizabeth waving to well-wishers from the balcony of Buckingham Palace on 8th May 1945, the day World War II officially ended in Europe. The reverse also includes a series of Union Jacks, each enhanced in full colour, and an extract from Churchill’s well-known victory speech. An official portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was just 19 on VE Day but went on to become our longest-serving sovereign of all time, sits on the coin’s obverse.
