Struck in Solid 9-Carat Gold to an impressive Proof-like finish, the magnificent 80th Anniversary of D-Day Solid Gold Coin includes a design by leading artist and sculptor Sandra Deiana, featuring a group of uniformed soldiers walking on one of the landing beaches as part of ‘Operation Overlord,’ the historic mission to free Western France from German occupation during the summer of 1944. Also appearing on this NEW and sought-after issue is an official portrait of His Majesty the King whose grandfather, George VI, was on the throne throughout the Second World War. This remarkable effigy is the work of leading engraver Jody Clark and depicts Charles III facing left and without a crown.
