The second portrait to be issued during the reign of George V was struck between 1929 and 1932 inclusive featured a revised portrait of the king.  Due to production problems at The Royal Mint where the coin was struck, the design was re-worked, creating a smaller effigy of the king.  The unique story surrounding the George V ‘Small Head’ Sovereign ensures it remains highly sought-after by collectors around the world.
