Queen Victoria Veiled Head Gold Sovereign

LAST EVER Victoria Sovereign

  • Limited edition presentation of just 795
  • Final portrait change of history’s longest-serving monarch
  • Sought-after ‘veiled head’ portrait

The final obverse portrait of Queen Victoria’s 63 year reign was designed by Sir Thomas Brock and issued in 1893. Struck by The Royal Mint, it features a distinctly older queen, now in her 78th year, wearing a coronet and a long veil, the latter of which she frequently wore following the death of her husband Prince Albert in 1861. The ‘veiled head’ portrait remained on all British coins, including the Sovereign, until Victoria’s death in 1901. The Pistrucci portrait remained unchanged on the reverse.

N.B Limited edition presentation relates only to the coin as presented in our packaging. Coin shown for illustrative purposes only. Year dates will vary.
