The United Kingdom 1887 ‘Jubilee’ Stamp Set

Complete Set of 14 stamps released during Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee year

  • First British stamps printed in two colours
  • Unofficially regarded as the UK’s first commemorative stamps
  • Displayed in a luxury Presentation Folder

Dating back to Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, these fourteen original stamps are regarded as Royal Mail’s first ever unofficial commemorative issues. Interestingly, only 10 of the 14 stamps were actually released during 1887, the 10d, 4½d, ½d and 1s values were added later to conform to the Universal Postal Union standards. The first ever British stamps to be printed in two colours,  these iconic issues were incredibly popular among Victorians as a tribute to their Sovereign and remain just as sought-after today, almost 130 years later. This complete must-have 1887 Golden ‘Jubilee’ Stamp Set is available from The Jubilee Mint in strictly limited numbers. Housed and protected in a luxury Presentation Folder with Certificate of Authenticity.
