The NEW King George VI Coronation Coin Collection

Fifteen original Proof coins issued to mark the 1937 Coronation

  • Eleven coins struck in Solid Silver
  • Includes 1937 set of Maundy Money
  • Housed in original Royal Mint Presentation Case

This magnificent collection consists of fifteen original Proof coins issued by The Royal Mint to mark George VI’s Coronation on 12th May 1937. Featured are eleven Solid Silver coins, including a coveted set of Maundy Money – the only set of Maundy coins struck for collectors during the king’s entire reign. The reverse designs include Britannia, the Royal Arms and the Crowned Rose, and as some of the earliest coins of George VI’s reign, each obverse depicts one of the first ever portraits of the new monarch. With less than 27,000 sets ever released, this original King George VI Coronation Proof Coin Collection is extremely difficult to source, therefore a limited number is now available to Jubilee Mint collectors. Housed in an official 1937 Royal Mint Presentation Case.
