Featuring the UK’s FIRST EVER official crowned portrait of Charles III
To mark an historic new era of coinage, The Royal Mint has taken the unique step of issuing two 2023-dated Silver Britannia Coins in the same year which are now available to own as part of an exclusive Jubilee Mint collection. Struck in One Troy Ounce of 999/1000 Fine Silver, each sought-after silver coin features, on its reverse, Philip Nathan’s famous portrayal of Britannia as well as a number of state-of-the-art anti-counterfeiting features. On the obverses meanwhile, is the UK’s last ever portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Jody Clark while appearing for the first time ever is the historic debut ‘Crowned’ portrait of Her Majesty’s son and successor, Charles III. Personally approved by the King, this official effigy is the work of prolific sculptor Martin Jennings and features the new monarch, who was crowned on the 6th May in Westminster Abbey, wearing the Tudor Crown and facing left. This unique dual release for the first time ever in Britannia’s history will generate particularly high levels of demand to own the first and last coins featuring official portraits of two successive Windsor monarchs.
