VE Day on the 8th May 1945 marked the end of World War II in Europe, when Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allies. To commemorate 80 years of peace, the NEW 2025 VE Day Gold Proof Half Sovereign is now available in low numbers at The Jubilee Mint following its official approval at Buckingham Palace. Expertly struck in Solid 22-Carat Gold to a pristine proof finish, this highly coveted coin has a low 499-piece mintage which rapidly SOLD OUT at The East India Company. Inspired by the famous First World War ‘Victory Medal’, the reverse depicts the female figure of victory wearing a long dress with her arms outstretched above her to form the letter ‘V’, mirroring the large ‘V’ in the background. Behind her appears a ribbon with the inscription, ‘VE DAY’ plus the years ‘1945’ and ‘2025’, representing the milestone anniversary.
