The NEW 400th Anniversary Solid Gold Proof Laurel

Enhanced by rare inclusion of crown privy mark

  • Struck in Solid Gold to a Proof finish
  • JUST 2,999 available worldwide
  • Approved by Buckingham Palace

The British ‘Laurel’ was last issued in 1625. To mark this year’s milestone 400th anniversary, an official NEW gold coin has been officially approved by Buckingham Palace and is now available for the first time ever. Inspired by the 17th century original, this superb 2025-dated issue has been struck in Solid 9-Carat Gold to the most pristine Proof finish. An official portrait of King Charles III by Jody Clark features on the obverse, depicting the sovereign in a Laurel wreath headdress, mirroring James I from four centuries ago. His Majesty also appears facing right, the opposite direction to all other coinage of his reign while a rare and sought-after ONE-YEAR-ONLY crown privy mark is also included, further enhancing its magnificent design. Upon the reverse is an historic design depicting a crown above a Quartered Shield. Demand for this NEW limited edition gold Laurel is expected to be high but availability is strictly limited and the coin’s entire 2,999-piece mintage can only be secured exclusively at The Jubilee Mint. Each arrives complete with a Certificate of Authenticity.
