Expertly struck in Solid 22-Carat Gold to the finest Proof finish following official approval at Buckingham Palace, this NEW coin takes inspiration from a beautiful 1952 portrait of our Head of State taken by renowned royal photographer, Dorothy Wilding, to mark Her Majesty’s accession to the throne. This iconic photograph went on to be used on the UK’s official postage stamps for almost twenty years, and has now been reimagined on the reverse of this NEW gold issue. Completing the design is an inscription of the centenary years and the distinctive ‘Elizabeth R’ signature, while on the obverse is an official portrait of King Charles III, who inherited the throne from his mother in 2022 after her reign which spanned seven decades.
