Issued to mark the Queen’s seven decades of service comes this BRAND NEW silver £5 coin, meticulously struck in 925/1000 Sterling Silver to the most peerless Proof finish on Sunday 5th June, an historic day which marks the culmination of our extended weekend of official Platinum Jubilee celebrations. On its reverse is a specially commissioned reverse by leading heraldic artist, Timothy Noad featuring a large central number ‘70’ framed by an exquisite circular garland which includes the four floral symbols of the UK. The St Edward’s ‘Coronation’ Crown also forms part of the design while on the coin’s obverse is an official portrait of our longest-reigning monarch by another of today’s leading coin designers, Jody Clark. Due to the Queen’s status not just in the UK and the Commonwealth but around the world, and the popularity of ‘Struck on the Day’ issues, a high demand is expected. Out of an entire mintage of just 999 silver coins, only a limited allocation is now available at The Jubilee Mint.
