Officially approved by Buckingham Palace, this NEW solid silver £5 coin has been struck in 925/1000 Sterling Silver to the most pristine Proof finish to commemorate seventy years of the Queen’s reign. Weighing an impressive 75.00 grams, it depicts Her Majesty, in the first official portrait since her Coronation, in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace, wearing the Robe of State and the Diamond Diadem Crown. This iconic 20th century photograph by Julian Calder was released to coincide with monarch’s Golden Jubilee, marking fifty years since Accession, in 2002. An official portrait of our longest-serving sovereign, who inherited the throne in 1952 and was crowned the following summer in Westminster Abbey, is on the obverse.
