As the nation prepares to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, The Jubilee Mint is proud to release this exclusive, limited edition tribute. The NEW VE Day 24-Carat Gold-Plated Coin Pair consists of two superb coins, each plated in rich 24-Carat Gold and expertly struck to an impressive Proof-like finish. The photographic issue measures a full 44.00mm and features a famous image of Winston Churchill alongside George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother on the 8th May 1945 while on the obverse is an official portrait of the couple’s oldest daughter, the late Queen Elizabeth II. The complementary £5 coin, which has been officially approved by Buckingham Palace, depicts the iconic London skyline where many of the celebrations took place eighty years ago as well as an official effigy of Charles III by engraver Jody Clark.
