More than two hundred years since William Wyon created the finest masterpiece of his early career, an official NEW gold coin now pays tribute to one of the most beautiful gold coin designs of all time. Officially approved by Buckingham Palace, the superb ‘Three Graces’ has been struck in Solid 9-Carat Gold to the most pristine Proof finish and features Zeus’ three daughters, representing Ireland, as symbolised by the Harp, England as denoted by the Shield of its patron saint, St George and Scotland, traditionally associated with the Thistle, the country’s official emblem. The reverse also includes, again as per Wyon’s 1817 original, the Latin for ‘An Unbreakable Union,’symbolising the harmony of the three nations after years of conflict. Meanwhile on the coin’s obverse is an official portrait of His Majesty Charles III. This uncrowned effigy bears a superb likeness to the king and is the work of leading contemporary engraver Jody Clark, best-known for designing the UK’s final official coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
