Struck in Solid 22-Carat by The Royal Mint to commemorate the 70-year reign of Her Majesty the Queen, the UK’s 2022 Sovereign is the first ever to be issued in a Platinum Jubilee year and the last ever of the monarch's reign. As a measure of its importance, in place of Pistrucci’s St George and the Dragon design, is a magnificent ONE-YEAR-ONLY reverse, inspired by the Royal Coat of Arms by Timothy Noad. The leading heraldic artist has now created three separate Sovereign designs since the Queen’s reign began on the 6th February 1952, including the coveted 2002 edition. On its obverse meanwhile, is the UK’s official definitive coinage portrait of our late Queen wearing the Diadem Diadem Crown. This is the work of Jody Clark, the youngest of just five engravers to design a definitive portrait during the last seven decades. Comes complete with a deluxe Presentation Case and a Certificate of Authenticity.
