Appearing on more modern Sovereigns than any other since 1817, the Italian engraver’s iconic depiction of Saint George, England’s patron saint, slaying the dragon, is today synonymous with the UK’s flagship gold coin. On the obverse of the NEW Sovereign meanwhile, is the UK’s first official definitive coinage portrait of His Majesty the King by sculptor Martin Jennings. Personally approved by Charles, it depicts the monarch without a crown facing to the left. Featuring two sought-after designs together on a Sovereign for one of the first times ever, this official 2024-dated gold coin is expected to be in high demand among collectors but only 2,024 coins are now available at The Jubilee Mint on a first-come first-served basis.
