Appearing on the reverse of this exciting issue is an original and unseen design by the UK’s first decimal coin designer, Christopher Ironside, now expertly re-drawn fifty years later, for this commemoration, with express permission from his family, by leading contemporary engraver and sculptor, Jody Clark. On the obverse meanwhile, is an official portrait of Her Majesty the Queen who was on the throne on 15th February 1971, an historic day which transformed the lives of millions.
