Struck by The Royal Mint to mark the 50th Anniversary of Queen Victoria’s accession in 1887, this is the first ever Sovereign to feature the ‘Jubilee Head’ portrait. Designed by Joseph Edward Boehm as a replacement to the ‘Young Head,’ this updated portrait depicted a more mature Queen wearing a small coronet. On the reverse is Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic St George and the Dragon design and that all-important 1887 first year of issue. Luxury Presentation Case and Certificate of Authenticity included. Extremely small number now available from The Jubilee Mint.
