The George V Solid Silver 1935 ‘Silver Jubilee’ Crown

The United Kingdom’s FIRST EVER commemorative crown

  • Struck by The Royal Mint in Solid Silver
  • Features official King George V portrait
  • Strictly limited availability

The UK’s FIRST EVER commemorative crown was released by The Royal Mint in 1935 to mark King George V’s Silver Jubilee. Struck in Solid Silver, it features an Art Deco depiction of the Patron Saint of England on horseback holding a long sword – a portrayal which has famously earned this silver coin the nickname the ‘Rocking Horse’ Crown. The obverse includes the UK’s official portrait of George V, the Queen’s grandfather, who began the tradition of Remembrance Day commemorations one hundred years ago. Due to consistently high demand levels among collectors, JUST 499 are available from The Jubilee Mint, each displayed in a luxury Presentation Case with a Certificate of Authenticity.

NB. The limited edition presentation relates only to the coin as presented in our packaging.
