Struck in 925/1000 Sterling Silver by The Royal Mint, this original ‘Jubilee Head’ Silver Half Crown dates back to the extraordinary reign of Queen Victoria who ruled from 1837 until 1901. A crowned and quartered shield is on the reverse while the second of only three portraits to appear on Victoria’s coinage sits on the obverse. Designed by Sir Joseph Edgar Boehm, the ‘Jubilee Head’ effigy was introduced in 1887 to coincide with her Golden Jubilee. Due to high demand on the secondary market, only limited numbers are now available at The Jubilee Mint on a first-come first-served basis.
