One of The Shortest-lived British Coin Denominations in History

  • Only struck between 1887 and 1890
  • Struck in Solid Silver by The Royal Mint
  • Features famous ‘Jubilee Head’ portrait

The Queen Victoria Silver Double Florin is highly sought-after as one of the shortest-lived British coin denominations ever. First struck in Solid Silver by The Royal Mint in 1887, the monarch’s Golden Jubilee year, it features Sir Joseph Boehm’s famous ‘Jubilee Head’ portrait. Due to confusion with the crown, the last ever Silver Double Florin was struck just four years later in 1890. Only a very small number currently available from The Jubilee Mint – early ordering recommended. Comes complete with luxury Presentation Case and Certificate of Authenticity.
