Queen Victoria Young Head Silver Crown

An original solid silver coin from the reign of one of our longest-serving sovereigns!

  • Struck in Silver by The Royal Mint
  • At least 130 years old
  • Featuring ‘Young Head’ portrait

Struck in 925/1000 Sterling Silver by The Royal Mint between 1838 and 1887, this original circulating solid silver crown dates back to the extraordinary life of Queen Victoria who ruled for an incredible 63 years during the 19th century. On the reverse is the first official coinage portrait since the monarch’s accession in 1837, William Wyon’s famous ‘Young Head’ featuring the eighteen-year-old who inherited the throne from her uncle, William IV. A crowned shield within a wreath, among the most sought-after designs of Victoria’s reign, is on the reverse. Genuine silver coinage from the era is consistently in high demand but due to difficulties sourcing in volume on the secondary market, availability at The Jubilee Mint is limited. Protected in a deluxe Presentation Case with a Certificate of Authenticity.
