Marking fifty years since Concorde broke records with its first ever passenger flights on the 21st January 1976, this NEW coin has been struck in Solid 9-Carat Gold to a flawless Proof finish on the exact anniversary date. Showcasing a specially commissioned design by Matt Bonaccorsi, who formerly worked at The Royal Mint as Chief Engraver, the NEW gold coin depicts the airliner flying overhead, with its iconic droop nose, narrow fuselage and delta-wings allowing it to reach supersonic speeds. On the obverse is an official effigy of our monarch, King Charles III, by another renowned engraver, Jody Clark, known for creating the fifth and final definitive portrait of our longest-reigning sovereign, Elizabeth II.
