The reverse design features the monarch represented as ‘Dignity’ in the centre, dressed in long robes in the style of an ancient goddess while alongside her is a Lion, a traditional symbol of strength and courage, echoing Sir William Wyon’s classic Una and the Lion design. On the obverse is leading engraver Glyn Davies’ effigy of King Charles III, the eldest son and heir of Queen Elizabeth II.
