Officially approved by Buckingham Palace, the NEW Centenary of Queen Elizabeth II Solid Gold Proof Coin is the work of leading engraver Jody Clark who is best known for designing the United Kingdom’s fifth official coinage portrait of the monarch. On the reverse, Britain’s longest-serving sovereign is depicted in evening attire which includes a stunning Cartier necklace and a head-dress featuring the four floral emblems of the British Isles, the Rose, the Thistle, the Daffodil and the Shamrock. Her official cypher and a crown inspired by the St Edward’s Crown, also appear on the design while on the obverse is an official portrait, also by Clark, of Charles III, the Queen’s successor.
