There’s the distinctive effigy of George V, whose passing on January 20th 1936 after a 26-year reign, triggered an extraordinary series of events resulting in his older son Edward’s decision to abdicate the throne after just eleven months. Meanwhile, completing the trio is his younger brother who neither desired nor expected to be king but came to power on December 11th 1936 as George VI while on the obverses is an official portrait of Charles III by celebrated engraver Jody Clark.
