The Queen Victoria Old Head Silver Crown
In extremely high demand 200 years since the famous Sovereign’s birth
Struck in 925/1000 Sterling Silver by The Royal Mint between 1893 and 1901 only, this original solid silver crown dates back to the extraordinary life of Queen Victoria who was born in Kensington Palace in 1819. Appearing on its reverse is Benedetto Pistrucci’s timeless interpretation of Saint George slaying the Dragon while on the obverse is the final official coinage portrait of the Sovereign’s sixty-three and a half year reign. The famous ‘Old Head’ replaced the ‘Jubilee Head’ and was designed by leading sculptor of the time, Sir Thomas Brock. Genuine silver coinage is likely to be particularly sought-after this year which marks the 200th Anniversary of Victoria’s birth, a key milestone for collectors. Now available at The Jubilee Mint in limited numbers and complete with a luxury Presentation Case and Certificate of Authenticity.
