Struck in 925/1000 Sterling Silver to the highest Proof finish by The Royal Mint, this official NEW silver coin marks the 200th Anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the charity which since it was founded by Sir William Hillary in 1824 has saved more than 144,000 lives at sea. Featured is a never-before-seen design by leading artist John Bergdahl, who is famous for creating a number of official UK coin designs including the Coronation range. In the centre of the reverse is RNLI’s official flag, surrounded by a Kisbee life ring, enhanced in its original orange colour, which was used by the organisation to help those in danger at sea as early as 1855. The years ‘1824’ and ‘2024,’ representing this year’s 200th anniversary are also included on the design while on the coin’s obverse is the UK’s first official coinage portrait of Charles III by sculptor Martin Jennings. Limited to only 4,000 worldwide, this coveted issue, which has been produced in partnership with the RNLI, is available in strictly limited quantities at The Jubilee Mint.
