A unique opportunity to own the NEW 80th Anniversary of VE Day £5 Coin, expertly struck to a high Proof-like finish and plated in Pure Silver on the 8th of May 2025 only - the exact anniversary date of the end of WWII in Europe. Officially approved by Buckingham Palace, where the Royal Family and Sir Winston Churchill addressed the public on VE Day in 1945, this NEW coin features a specially commissioned reverse by leading artist, Sandra Deiana, known her work with The Royal Mint. This NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN design depicts the iconic dome of St Paul’s Cathedral, which was visited by thousands on the 8th May 1945 to give thanks for peace, and which remains a symbol of defiance having survived the Blitz. Surrounding this is a laurel wreath and an inscription reading, ‘80th Anniversary of VE Day’. On the obverse is an official portrait of King Charles III by Jody Clark. A mintage of JUST 499 coins is now available to own from The Jubilee Mint amid high levels of demand in this landmark year.
